In this section we present the latest works of
Srivatsa Dattatreya, our young and talented Composer-in-Residence.
Srivatsa lives in New-York, USA.
This is his conceptual project that sounds like a
game or movie soundtrack.
Initially Srivatsa’s melodies were arranged in
MIDI by Alexei Ustinov. Auto-harmonization and accompaniment
generation was done using the powerful JMT software
Onyx Arranger 2.1 and Style Enhancer 4.0, and not
one note was played on a keyboard.
Then, using this material, Anton Ilyashenko,
Alexei Kosolapov and Alexei Ustinov have created audio
versions - rearrangements with live musicians and
hardware & software synths.
Guitar and bass parts were played by Anton Ilyashenko,
and sax parts by Nikolai Panchenko.
Final mastering by Megaton Studio (Novosibrisk, Russia).
MIDI and audio (MP3) versions as well as composer’s
comments are in the table below.

Danger

A lonely warrior stands alone against a
sweeping horde of barbarians.
As he reaches for his trusted blade, they attack!

Fepetos Plains
The battle drums sound as the horses gallop over
the rolling plains toward the awaiting fortress,
Fepetos. On their perilous journey,
they hear the rattles of the trees and
whispers of the winds, urging them
to move on to their destiny.

Work hard. Play hard
The warriors celebrate hard tonight, drinking the
sweet wines of the ashen fields and knowing
that tomorrow's morn will bring a battle in which
very few will come out alive.

Moving on

The surviving warriors return with the bodies
of fallen, trudging over the spent battlefield.
They hold tears in their hearts, but are overcome
with pride for their brethren. The drums pound on,
preparing the warriors for the battle to come
when day breaks.

Beloved
The beloved waits in her high citadel for
her warrior to return. And as the smoke clears
over the hazy battlefield, the warrior emerges
victorious. They run to each other and embrace,
forgetting time, forgetting space, and forgetting the
inevitable call of duty that will separate them soon.

Return and Rejoice

The war is over! The remaining warriors return
to their lovers and drink with whole hearts,
rejoicing for their victory over their enemies.

Forever Yours

The warrior joins with beloved
again under a carpet of stars.
Alas, in the life of a warrior, "forever" is but short.
